Oklo is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to serve as a key owner-side technical lead for the Aurora advanced fission power plant project at Idaho National Laboratory. This role focuses on delivering complete, coordinated, and constructible electrical systems across design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and plant operation. The successful candidate will take ownership of electrical scope from design development through turnover, coordinating work performed by EPC partners and equipment vendors while ensuring responsibilities and interfaces are clearly defined. Key responsibilities include establishing and maintaining electrical design criteria, requirements, calculations, specifications, and drawings; reviewing electrical studies (load flow, short-circuit, protective-device coordination, arc-flash, grounding); verifying consistent incorporation of requirements across all documents; leading resolution of technical questions, RFIs, design changes, and field issues; supporting equipment procurement through technical requirements development and vendor review; and working closely with project management on priorities, dependencies, and risks. The role requires working effectively in a progressive design-build environment where engineering, procurement, and construction overlap, supporting constructability reviews, installation planning, inspections, testing, commissioning, and operations. This is a startup-like environment requiring practical, solutions-oriented collaboration while maintaining safety, quality, and technical rigor. Oklo is developing fast fission power plants for clean, reliable, and affordable energy at scale, advancing nuclear fuel recycling, and establishing a domestic supply chain for critical radioisotopes. The company was the first to receive a site use permit from the U.S. Department of Energy for a commercial advanced fission plant and submitted the first custom combined license application for an advanced reactor to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Remote employees are required to travel to Santa Clara headquarters twice quarterly for team meetings, off-sites, and company events. The first two weeks of onboarding must be completed in person at headquarters. **Requirements:** - Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program - Eight or more years of progressively responsible electrical engineering experience, including significant experience with power-generation electrical systems - Experience with facility power distribution, emergency power, grounding, electrical equipment, and electrical studies - Experience reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, calculations, and vendor submittals - Working knowledge of applicable electrical codes and standards, including IEEE standards and relevant building and fire codes - Demonstrated ability to coordinate work across multiple engineering disciplines, contractors, and vendors - Strong ownership, organization, communication, and technical problem-solving skills - Ability to prioritize and close issues in a fast-paced project environment with evolving design information - Ability to succeed in a startup-like environment by working through process gaps, ambiguity, and evolving information - Ability to develop practical near-term solutions that protect construction schedules while improving processes without compromising safety, quality, or technical requirements - Ability to travel to project offices, vendor facilities, and the Aurora-INL construction site **Bonus Qualifications:** - Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain one - Experience with nuclear or DOE-regulated facilities and additional electrical requirements for regulated nuclear facilities - Ten or more years of progressively responsible electrical engineering experience - Experience supporting EPC, progressive design-build execution, and field construction - Experience with ETAP, CDEGS, and Bluebeam software tools - Experience with switchyard design and high-voltage utility coordination - Experience with commissioning, startup, or turnover of industrial electrical systems
