Mecka AI is building the data infrastructure layer for robotics and embodied AI. The company designs and operates global systems for data capture, data labeling, and hardware-enabled workflows used by leading AI labs and robotics companies to train and validate humanoid and embodied AI systems.
In this role, you will design the electronics that convert physical experience into data that robots can learn from. You'll build the boards and sensor interfaces behind Mecka's capture hardware, taking designs from schematics through first power-on to validation and production. As Mecka expands data collection globally, your engineering decisions will directly impact signal quality, power consumption, and the performance of complete recording systems.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design circuits and schematics, and develop or review PCB layouts for capture and sensing hardware
- Bring up new boards and diagnose power, signal, timing, and communication problems on the bench
- Partner with firmware and mechanical engineers to validate complete systems under realistic recording workloads
- Work with suppliers to improve designs based on prototype results, production tests, component qualification, and field failures
- Document designs, measurements, and design changes clearly so others can build on your work
Requirements:
- 3–4 years of experience designing and bringing up electronics hardware
- Depth in at least one of these specializations: (1) Digital hardware: SoC boards, memory, high-speed interfaces, signal and power integrity, and board bring-up; or (2) Sensor electronics: low-noise acquisition, microcontrollers, compact circuits, and C or C++ firmware for hardware integration
- Experience designing schematics and PCBs in tools such as Altium or KiCad, and bringing up the resulting hardware
- Strong foundation in analog and digital electronics, power supplies, grounding, decoupling, and sensor interfaces
- Practical debugging skills with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies, and electronic loads
- Ability to reason about signal quality, timing, power consumption, and how electronics and firmware interact
- Hands-on prototyping and rework skills
Nice-to-have: Experience with flexible circuits, EMC, wireless systems, battery-powered devices, or production testing.
