Hut 8 is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to own the design and delivery of mission-critical electrical infrastructure. This is a hands-on role where you will design electrical systems end-to-end—including utility interconnects, substations, switchgear, generators, UPS systems, and power distribution networks. You will serve as Engineer of Record for one-line diagrams, protection coordination studies, short-circuit analysis, arc-flash assessments, and related power-system studies. Beyond the design phase, you will stay embedded in construction, solving field issues in real time and owning the work through commissioning and energization. You will challenge designs on cost, constructability, redundancy, and third-party work without compromising safety or reliability. The company culture emphasizes ownership over hierarchy: scope and responsibility grow with impact and trust, not titles. You will have real autonomy to operate beyond traditional role boundaries and help shape the organization's direction. Bonus experience includes delivering data centers across multiple U.S. markets, working with medium- or high-voltage systems, on-site generation, or energy storage, operating in owner-builder or EPC environments where design and construction remain closely integrated, and managing utility interconnection from application through energization. REQUIREMENTS: - Active Professional Engineer (PE) license (required) - 7+ years designing electrical systems for data centers, industrial, or other mission-critical facilities - Deep knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE standards, and critical power systems - Fluency with SKM, ETAP, or EasyPower software - Knowledge of redundancy topologies including N+1 and 2N - Direct experience working with utilities, equipment vendors, construction teams, and commissioning through energization
