Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a mid-to-senior Electrical Engineer to join the Costa Mesa, CA team. You will own end-to-end avionics hardware development for advanced hypersonic and high-speed vehicles, taking critical electrical subsystems from architecture and schematic capture through board bring-up, Design Verification Testing (DVT), and vehicle-level integration. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced hardware development environment where you will directly impact flight hardware. You will leverage deep expertise in power electronics, analog and digital circuit design, and system integration to deliver reliable, high-performance avionics for next-generation defense platforms. Key responsibilities include: - Designing and analyzing board-level circuits for power systems, DC-DC converters, switching power supplies, and voltage regulators - Conducting multi-layer, mixed-signal PCB design including schematic capture, component placement, stackup design, impedance control, and EMC/EMI considerations - Performing hands-on board bring-up, debugging, and Design Verification Testing using standard lab equipment (oscilloscopes, electronic loads, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers) - Integrating electrical subsystems into larger vehicle electromechanical assemblies and harness interconnects - Troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of complex electrical systems - Collaborating on system interfaces and bus architectures (CAN, SPI, I2C, Ethernet, RS-422/485, UART) You will work in a mission-driven environment focused on bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military. REQUIREMENTS: - Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline - 4+ years of hands-on experience in board-level circuit design, analysis, and system integration - Strong EE fundamentals: demonstrated expertise in analog and digital circuit design, component selection, tolerance analysis, and root-cause troubleshooting - Proven experience designing power systems, DC-DC converters, switching power supplies, voltage regulators, and power management circuits - Direct experience designing multi-layer, mixed-signal PCBs (schematic capture, component placement, stackup design, impedance control, grounding, EMC/EMI) - High competence using standard lab equipment for hands-on board bring-up, debugging, and DVT - Familiarity with common interfaces (CAN, SPI, I2C, Ethernet, RS-422/485, UART) - Ability to support design integration into larger vehicle electromechanical assemblies - Must be a U.S. Person with an active U.S. DoD Secret clearance (or eligibility to rapidly reactivate a clearance held within the last 24 months) PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Active DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance - Experience designing electronics for space, missile, or hypersonic environments (extreme vibration, thermal vacuum, radiation-tolerant/rad-hard considerations) - Experience with ECAD design tools such as Altium Designer - Experience designing high-reliability hardware in fast-iterating environments (new-space, aerospace startups, fast-paced defense programs) - Understanding of battery management systems (BMS), high/low voltage power distribution, and actuator/motor drive electronics
