As Director of PMO (Engineering), you will lead program management across the entire engineering organization, serving as the single point of accountability for program health and delivery. This is a hands-on director role that combines strategic oversight with day-to-day execution on high-stakes initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own program management across the whole engineering organization, ensuring consistent visibility into status, risk, and milestones across multiple engineering leaders' portfolios
- Lead client-facing delivery for the company's largest and most complex enterprise engagements, representing engineering directly to customers and partnering with Sales, Customer Success, and Product from pre-close through implementation and go-live
- Build and run a company-wide program reporting standard with a common dashboard for R&D leadership
- Manage and grow a team of program and technical program managers, setting standards for rigor, governance, and documentation
- Build trusted partnerships with R&D leadership and drive cross-functional alignment so program managers are embedded from the start of major initiatives
- Partner with the Chief Development Officer to shape PMO structure, standards, and long-term team growth
- Stay hands-on: personally drive execution on the highest-stakes programs in addition to setting direction
- Design and administer AI-powered workflows and PMO tooling (e.g., Cowork, Jira, Confluence) to keep tracking and executive reporting current as the team scales
- Demonstrate strong executive communication skills and present key updates, risks, and strategic initiatives to senior leadership
- Partner with product and engineering leaders on roadmap, resource planning, and capacity allocation
- Proactively identify, track, and mitigate risks and issues across strategic initiatives
You will report directly to the Chief Development Officer and work across multiple geographies including North America, Latin America, India, and Europe. Travel domestically and internationally is required for key client engagements and team meetings.
Qualifications:
- 12+ years of program management experience, including 4+ years leading a SaaS PMO or program function at the director level
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related technical field; MBA preferred
- Proven track record leading complex, client-facing enterprise software implementations with direct engagement of enterprise customers and executives
- Experience managing and developing a team of program or technical program managers
- Demonstrated ability to build trust and drive outcomes across engineering leadership without direct authority over delivery teams
- Real, hands-on AI-workflow experience: has built and run multi-step AI or Cowork workflows, not just used ChatGPT for document drafting
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed
- Experience managing and aligning program management functions and engineering squads across multiple geographies
- Direct experience driving high-stakes, large-scale enterprise deployments and managing complex, multi-million-dollar strategic customer engagements with executive stakeholders
- Experience scaling PMO operations, governance standards, and delivery frameworks through periods of rapid organizational growth or structural transformation
Preferred qualifications include background in fintech, private markets, fund administration, or regulated enterprise SaaS; experience building executive or company-wide reporting and dashboarding standards; experience identifying and turning around at-risk enterprise implementations; and PMP, PMI-ACP, or equivalent certification.
