AnySignal is developing next-generation RF products and services for space and defense missions. The company is building a flexible, high-performance platform for advanced radio technologies. You will lead the RF hardware engineering team reporting to the VP of RF and Digital. This role combines technical leadership with people management and hands-on engineering judgment. You will own delivery, quality, technical direction, and team development across concurrent radio programs. Key responsibilities include: - Leading the RF engineering team (hardware engineers, senior individual contributors, and leads) across multiple concurrent programs - Owning delivery: scope, schedule, resourcing, and prioritization with clear-eyed assessment of team capacity - Serving as technical decision-maker for RF hardware architecture and implementation trades - Owning the design review, verification, and documentation process with appropriate rigor for flight hardware - Partnering across FPGA, DSP, embedded software, mechanical, thermal, manufacturing, test, and supply chain teams - Hiring, leveling, performance management, and career development for the team - Representing RF engineering technically with customers, primes, and government partners - Driving transition from heroics to repeatable processes, NPI discipline, test infrastructure, and design reuse This is not a pure program management or people-management role. You will actively participate in schematic reviews, architecture debates, and failure investigations, forming your own technical views. REQUIREMENTS: - 10+ years in RF or hardware engineering, including 4+ years leading engineering teams - Direct experience managing senior individual contributors and other leads or managers, with a track record of retention - Deep personal RF background: designed RF hardware yourself and can hold your own in detailed design reviews on noise figure, linearity, frequency planning, and layout - Demonstrated leadership in demanding hardware environments (space, defense, or comparably high-consequence programs) - Breadth across hardware beyond RF: digital and high-speed design, power, FPGA interfaces, mechanical and thermal constraints, manufacturability - Track record of hiring senior engineers and raising team's technical standard - Judgment about when to decide, delegate, or escalate without becoming a bottleneck DESIRED SKILLS: - Flight hardware programs delivered under your leadership from design through on-orbit operation - Experience scaling engineering teams through rapid growth - Familiarity with software-defined radio architectures and modern converter-centric designs - Experience interfacing with government customers and prime contractors - Background introducing process into fast-moving teams in an adopted rather than resented way Note: ITAR compliance required — must be U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or possess eligibility to secure necessary authorizations from U.S. Department of State.
