Taktile is building infrastructure that enables financial institutions to become AI-native. The company powers millions of decisions daily for institutions including Mercury, Monzo, Faire, and Pleo, using a modular Agentic Decision Platform that combines AI agents, rules, context, and human oversight to automate and optimize decisions across lending, fraud prevention, claims processing, and more.
You will lead the North American Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE) organization as a hands-on Director, managing a team of 15-20 FDEs while serving as a principal technical leader on the company's most complex customer engagements. This role bridges leadership and individual contribution: you'll own team operations, hiring, and development while remaining deeply technical and actively involved in enterprise deployments.
As a coach, you will:
- Lead the NORAM FDE team to deliver signed contracts into production with measurable business value
- Own the Quarterly Go-live ARR metric for the NORAM region
- Manage team operations including contract backlog, implementation pipeline, staffing, capacity planning, and project sign-offs
- Scale the FDE-led delivery motion by collaborating with Engineering and Product to build tooling, libraries, and standards
- Advocate for your team's priorities with leadership to secure resources and unblock implementations
- Hire and develop FDEs to keep pace with business growth
As a player, you will:
- Act as principal FDE and solution architect on the most complex deployments, owning enterprise production-grade design
- Lead problem-solving sessions with customers' technical teams and Taktile engineers
- Provide signal on product-market fit, gaps, and enhancements to Product and Engineering
- Remain hands-on with platform configuration, AI-agent training and evaluation, and delivery work when needed

Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience as an Implementation Engineer, Forward Deployed Engineer, Solution Engineer, or equivalent role in B2B SaaS
- Led large, multi-quarter enterprise implementations (seven-figure ARR) staffed by cross-functional teams
- Strong technical background, preferably in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics, or Data Science
- Managed a team with 5+ direct reports and can grow one
- Sharp in production Python and SQL; fluent with REST APIs, batch data pipelines, and data-warehouse integrations
- Bilingual in tech and business: can go deep with engineers and discuss value and trade-offs with executives
- Collaborative, curious, low-ego; works well across product, engineering, and GTM teams
- Can work from NYC office at least three days per week
Ideal qualifications (not required):
- Experience building AI applications in financial services
- Experience applying and optimizing statistical and machine learning models
- First-hand experience in business onboarding, business loan underwriting, insurance claim processing, or financial crime/fraud/AML investigation
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP
