Beacon Biosignals is transforming precision medicine for the brain through at-home EEG platforms and diagnostics. The company serves Life Sciences partners in clinical development and operates a Diagnostics business delivering reimbursable assessments for sleep and central nervous system disorders.
You will lead Beacon's Analytics Systems Team, managing 6-10 engineers responsible for building and maintaining the Analytics Suite products, developing data curation and scientific analysis tooling, and enabling scalable computation and tracking of biomarker features. The role includes evolving data infrastructure to support a centralized feature store and integrating foundation models into core analytical pipelines.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage and coach 6-10 engineers, fostering growth and helping them overcome challenges
- Develop deep understanding of the team's activities and products to drive continuous improvement
- Maintain high bars for engineering quality, productivity, and accountability
- Scope and prioritize tactical work aligned with strategic initiatives and cross-team coordination
- Own longer-term development roadmap aligned with company objectives
- Manage project scope, timelines, and stakeholder expectations
- Drive product direction and discovery, establishing processes for cross-functional collaboration
- Craft and execute strategic vision for how Analytics Systems can reshape Life Science projects, support diagnostic workflows, and enable biomarker discovery
Beacon maintains asynchronous work practices with office hubs in Boston, New York, and Paris. The Analytics Systems Team is currently distributed across American time zones.
Requirements:
- 6+ years of management experience leading mid- to large-sized analytics engineering teams
- Deep knowledge of analytics engineering tools (dbt, SQLMesh), data modeling and pipelines (Snowflake, Databricks, Argo, Airflow), and BI tooling (Superset, Looker, Tableau)
- Experience in medical device, clinical diagnostics, real-world data, pharma/biotech, or related fields
- Prior work in regulated industries with ability to balance agile development and design controls
- Strong bias toward simplicity and appropriate structural timing
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills in regulated environments
- Ability to quickly internalize user needs and translate into high-impact prioritization
- Track record of anticipating company-wide needs and opportunities
- Experience identifying and addressing bandwidth limitations, technical debt, and process inefficiencies
