Clair is a fintech platform on a mission to give America's workers financial freedom by enabling them to get paid as soon as they clock out of work. The company embeds its products within scheduling, workforce management, and payroll apps that workers already use daily, operating at the intersection of fintech, embedded finance, and real-time payroll systems.
As a DevOps Engineer, you will own critical system architecture, drive infrastructure reliability, and build at scale. Your work will directly enable millions of hourly workers to access financial freedom by ensuring the platform remains secure, performant, and highly available.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect, automate, and manage cloud infrastructure using Terraform
- Oversee system reliability, performance, and monitoring using self-hosted Grafana, Sentry, and Laravel Nightwatch
- Manage infrastructure and specialized environments for AI, data science, and ML workloads
- Drive security and compliance efforts, including SOC2 and PCI DSS audits and implementing technical controls
- Develop and maintain internal tools to support cross-functional teams
- Manage AI integrations and internal AI tools

Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE)
- Strong expertise in infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) and automation
- Strong security mindset
- Strong coding background; willingness to learn/work with PHP/Laravel stack
- Experience with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases (any database experience acceptable)
- Ability to manage infrastructure for AI/ML/Data Science workloads
Bonus Qualifications:
- Experience handling compliance audits (SOC2, PCI DSS)
- Experience in fast-paced startup environments
- Ability to periodically travel for team headquarters meetings and company on-sites
