MaintainX, now part of Autodesk Operations Solutions, is a mobile-first work execution platform serving 13,000+ customers including Duracell, McDonald's, Shell, DHL, and Volvo. The Platform & Infrastructure team ensures all other teams move fast, reliably, and productively by owning shared services (identity, search, communication, design system Pantry), developer tools, and delivery/execution foundations.
You will lead the technical direction of shared services and components that other teams depend on. This includes designing APIs, tools, and design system components that engineers want to use, improving the speed/security/reliability of software delivery, and treating internal engineers as your customers by gathering feedback and measuring adoption.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead design and delivery of large, ambiguous projects end-to-end from planning to production
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, engineering leadership, and consuming engineers to shape your team's roadmap and influence neighboring teams
- Own long-term technical health of a platform domain: reliability, performance, and invisible-until-broken infrastructure
- Drive architecture decisions and write technical proposals others depend on
- Mentor senior and staff-level engineers; set code review standards
- Raise the bar on tooling, testing, and delivery practices across multiple teams
You will join a team of 5–10 people and participate in on-call rotation. Within 6 months, you will own the technical direction of a platform domain or system. The core tech stack includes TypeScript, React, Node.js, and MySQL; some teams use C# or Python.
The company prefers teams located near business centers in Canada (Montreal or Toronto) but does not enforce minimum office presence.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 10+ years of professional experience designing full-stack web or mobile products, with demonstrated technical leadership scope beyond a single team
- Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript, React, and Node.js
- Experience designing shared systems at scale and judgment about when not to build
- Experience in iterative, adaptive, mobile-first development
- Proven track record writing maintainable, testable code you're comfortable handing to others
- Excellent written and oral communication: explaining technical tradeoffs to designers, support leads, executives, and engineers equally well
- Comfort advancing problems before specs are fully locked, adjusting as understanding evolves
- Daily use of AI tools in development process, not just occasional experimentation
- Bonus: GraphQL, React Native, or SQL databases; experience with search tech, authentication/identity, design systems/component libraries, developer tools/IDE extensions, CI/CD, observability, or compliance programs (FedRAMP, SOC 2)
