We are seeking a Senior Backend Developer to join our dynamic and diverse team. In this key role, you will contribute to the design and evolution of our cloud-native technology platform with a clear objective: delivering a seamless and high-performing digital mortgage lending experience to our clients. Your responsibilities will include: - Design and evolve nesto's backend platform to support our growth - Collaborate closely with Frontend and Data teams to build and integrate robust data services - Write clean, modular, testable, and maintainable code following industry best practices (Clean Code) - Apply your complete technical expertise (architecture design, coding, automated testing, and debugging) - Analyze and resolve complex or intermittent bugs while actively participating in validating new features - Promote continuous improvement by staying informed of new technologies to enhance existing architecture You will work with a modern technology stack and AI-powered development frameworks designed to help you innovate, develop your skills, and accelerate your career alongside some of Canada's best developers, AI engineers, and mortgage lending experts. Requirements: - Education: Bachelor's degree or university diploma in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent technical qualification - Experience: Minimum 5 years of professional software development experience - Technical Proficiency: Solid hands-on experience with at least one of the following languages: Go, Python, Node.js, or C# - Product Vision: Passion for creating user-centric products that deliver concrete value - Teamwork & Collaboration: Willingness to learn, exchange with peers, and grow the team in an inclusive and collaborative environment - Communication: Excellent ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders (technical or business) - Rigor & Systems Thinking: Attention to detail, technical rigor, and ability to think about software design long-term - Language Requirements: Fluent English (required) to collaborate daily with teams distributed nationally outside Quebec. French/English bilingualism is an asset.
