1Password is seeking an Intermediate Developer to join the Device Trust team, focusing on improving the reliability and operational excellence of the Device Trust authentication service. This is a software engineering role with a strong reliability focus where you will write and maintain production code, improve service operations, and help make a critical authentication path safer, more observable, and easier to evolve.
Device Trust authentication is a core component of customer authentication flows, helping organizations make device posture part of their access decisions. Because it sits directly in the authentication path, reliability is a first-class engineering concern. The service is already relied upon by customers daily, and in this role you will help raise the bar through stronger resilience, observability, operational practices, and safe system evolution.
You will build and improve the services powering Device Trust, enhance reliability and observability of production systems through software and automation, work across application code, service dependencies, cloud infrastructure, networking, deployment systems, and operational tooling. You will help establish safer ways to make and validate changes to critical systems, participate in incident response and post-incident learning to turn operational lessons into lasting improvements, and partner with engineers across Device Trust, Platform, Security, and other teams to identify risks, reduce operational friction, and improve customer experience.
1Password is a remote-first company with $400M+ ARR, on the Forbes Cloud 100 for four years running, and trusted by over 180,000 businesses including Fortune 100 leaders. The company prioritizes collaboration, transparent communication, and a human-centric approach to security. Remote work is part of the company DNA since its 2005 founding, though travel for in-person engagement (annual offsites, team meetings, customer events) is expected.
