Salary: USD 140,000 - 160,000 / annual
Harbinger is an American commercial electric vehicle (EV) company developing medium-duty EVs and hybrids with a focus on innovation in the commercial vehicle space. The company is building a best-in-class team of EV, battery, and drivetrain experts.
You will join as an Electrical Distribution Systems (EDS) Design Engineer, playing a critical role in designing, developing, and validating electrical wiring harnesses and distribution systems for advanced vehicle platforms. This is a hands-on technical role requiring strong problem-solving skills and cross-functional collaboration.
Key responsibilities:
- Design and develop vehicle electrical wiring harnesses, connectors, and distribution systems to meet system requirements and industry standards
- Create detailed 2D and 3D EDS designs using tools like CATIA, Siemens NX, or equivalent software
- Develop and maintain wiring schematics, routing layouts, and BOMs (Bill of Materials)
- Ensure compliance with electrical standards (ISO, SAE) and safety regulations
- Collaborate with hardware, software, and mechanical engineering teams to integrate EDS components seamlessly
- Perform tolerance analysis, routing feasibility studies, and virtual/physical mockups
- Lead validation and testing of electrical systems, including DV/PV testing and troubleshooting
- Interface with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and specification adherence
- Support manufacturing and service teams in build processes and field issue resolution

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- Experience: 3+ years in EDS design for automotive or related industries
- Core Technical Skills: Proficiency in EDS design tools (CATIA V5/V6, Siemens NX, Zuken); strong knowledge of automotive electrical systems, wiring harness architecture, and connector technologies; hands-on experience with high-voltage (HV) and low-voltage (LV) electrical systems
- Systems & Protocols: Familiarity with CAN/LIN communication protocols and diagnostic tools
- Quality & Safety: Working knowledge of DFMEA, DVP&R, and functional safety standards (ISO 26262)
- Professional Traits: Strong organizational and multitasking abilities; excellent verbal and written communication; demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, startup environment
