Paradigm is building a new type of spreadsheet for automating manual research with AI agents. The company is backed by ~$10M from General Catalyst and Y Combinator, with a small, talent-dense team of serial builders from Google, Databricks, and other top companies. As a Deployed Engineer, you will work directly with customers to identify high-value workflows, understand their data and systems, and turn those workflows into production AI agents on Paradigm. You'll operate at the intersection of engineering, product, and customer success—this is not a traditional solutions engineering role. You are expected to build and have autonomy to solve customer problems directly. Key responsibilities include: - Own the technical customer lifecycle from deployment through production adoption and expansion - Work directly with customers to understand their operations and identify high-leverage workflows for Paradigm - Design and deploy AI agents that combine reasoning, web research, premium external data, and customers' internal systems - Build integrations into CRMs, document stores, data warehouses, and internal APIs - Debug agent behavior, data quality issues, integrations, and real-world deployment problems - Build deep relationships with users and technical stakeholders across all levels - Identify patterns across customers and contribute to product improvements and roadmap decisions - Drive customers from initial success to broad, repeatable adoption across their organization You'll spend time on varied work: one week automating diligence workflows for an investment firm, the next connecting a customer's CRM, internal documents, and external data sources to surface new opportunities. The role demands both technical depth and customer empathy. Requirements: - Strong engineering foundation from a rigorous technical environment - Demonstrated track record of exceptional performance (academic, professional, athletic, or entrepreneurial) - Experience writing and debugging production software - Proficiency in at least one modern programming language - Ability to quickly understand unfamiliar APIs, data models, and technical systems - High tolerance for ambiguity, intensity, and sustained effort - Willingness to travel You may excel in this role if you love taking ambiguous business problems and turning them into working technical systems, prefer spending significant time with real users, are excited by LLMs and agents in production, enjoy moving between coding, debugging data, customer conversations, and product thinking, and get energized by opportunities to eliminate manual work.
