As a Data Science Engineer on the Data Science Core team, you will own projects from initial business question through to production models and AI products that reach customers. You'll work in a shared team supporting data science across Lighthouse, combining hands-on internal consulting for teams without embedded data science support, domain expertise maintenance, and research into AI applications for hospitality.
Key responsibilities include:
- Partner with internal teams to contribute data science expertise to projects
- Advise on and review data science work, or contribute hands-on to longer-term projects
- Build, evaluate, and ship machine learning and AI models for customer-facing use
- Bring models and AI products from initial question through to production
- Ramp up on important data domains to provide support and maintenance
- Research developments in advanced AI capabilities and experiment with their application in hospitality
- Collaborate with stakeholders to determine solution readiness for customer use
You'll work alongside three MLOps Engineers and a Lead Data Scientist. The role emphasizes independent work with support from senior team members. The tech stack includes Python (pandas, numpy, ML libraries), SQL, Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Vertex AI, Dataflow, ADK), Airflow, dbt, MLflow, and GitLab.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven experience in Data Science
- Experience using Python to develop machine learning or AI solutions
- Experience with cloud orchestration
- Experience with generative AI
- Track record of taking machine learning models or AI products into production for customers
- Strong communication skills and experience working with stakeholders on ambiguous data science problems
- Ability to work independently on data science projects
- Fluency in English
