Relativity Space is building rockets to serve today's needs and tomorrow's breakthroughs. The Terran R vehicle will deliver customer payloads to orbit, meeting growing demand for launch capacity. You'll join an early-stage aerospace company where autonomy, ownership, and impact exist at every level.
The IT team is responsible for the full scope of computing infrastructure, end-user systems, servers, virtualization, cloud, networking, software services, telecommunications, and information security. You'll support every function across the company, from the production floor to flight operations, enabling Relativity's team to design, build, and launch rockets.
As a Cybersecurity Engineer II, you'll protect the people and technical data behind the rockets by finding what can be better and building fixes that scale. Your work will cover several areas:
• Build and automate across the security stack. Create tools and AI-assisted workflows that handle repetitive tasks like investigations, enrichment, access reviews, and reporting, freeing the team to focus on real risk.
• Strengthen identity and access. Work with IAM specialists to harden Microsoft Entra ID, Azure, and Google Cloud. Hunt down privilege creep, exposed credentials, and misconfigurations. Learn and apply Conditional Access, least privilege, and privileged access best practices.
• Protect sensitive data. Help build DLP controls across endpoints, cloud services, and collaboration tools that keep intellectual property and controlled unclassified information (CUI) safe while enabling R&D.
• Enable secure development. Partner with AppSec and infrastructure teams to build security into CI/CD pipelines: secrets detection, dependency scanning, vulnerability checks. Ship self-service guardrails so the secure path is the easy path.
• Automate compliance. Turn requirements like CMMC Level 2 and NIST SP 800-171 into code. Collect evidence automatically and check controls continuously.
• Spot and fix process gaps. You'll have room to find what's slow or broken, pitch a fix, and ship it. You'll work with experts across every area, learn from them, and help raise the whole team's game.
The IT team balances near-term execution with long-term vision, developing scalable solutions and processes to enable the company's growth. The evolving complexity of the IT environment offers opportunities to stretch and sharpen problem-solving and hands-on technical skills. The company invests in its people, encouraging ownership, cross-training, and advancement.
REQUIREMENTS:
• 2–4 years of hands-on work in cybersecurity, IT, cloud, or a related technical field, in roles where you built things and solved problems, not just working in a queue.
• Curious and self-starting. You don't wait for perfect instructions. You ask questions, dig in, test ideas, and learn by doing.
• Comfortable with scripting, automation, and AI. You can write Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar to connect systems through APIs and automate repetitive work. You use AI coding assistants and LLMs to move faster, learn new tools, and prototype ideas. You understand what they give you and know when to double-check. You don't need to be a software engineer or ML specialist—just resourceful and excited to use these tools to work smarter.
• Cross-functional. You like working across IAM, DLP, cloud, AppSec, and GRC, partnering with specialists, and carrying ideas from one area into the next.
• Solid security basics. You have a good grasp of identity and access, authentication and authorization, networking, common attack techniques, and investigating security events.
NICE TO HAVES (not required):
• Certifications
• Security Clearance
• Aerospace Experience
• Startup Experience
