Nabis is the #1 licensed cannabis wholesale platform in the world, supplying $1B+ annually from hundreds of brands to retailers across California, New York, and Nevada. Nabis Capital is the company's financial arm, providing cash flow advances to brand customers. We are hiring a Credit Analyst to scale the day-to-day execution of our factoring operation.
You will evaluate new factoring requests, monitor portfolio risk, support brand onboarding, and work closely with the Credit Team Lead, Senior Director of Strategic Finance, and cross-functional teams including AR, Accounting Operations, and Product & Engineering.
Core responsibilities span three areas:
Administrative: Run the underwriting process for factoring advances and reserves; respond to inbound factoring requests from internal teams and external brand partners; maintain clean data and internal trackers; run monthly reconciliations and identify discrepancies; prepare quarterly marketing campaigns with the Marketing team.
Analytical: Analyze and score new factoring requests against credit metrics to recommend approval or rejection; work with AR to maintain a healthy factoring portfolio and manage delinquent retailers; run credit limit checks across the brand portfolio; perform analyses on retailer/brand exposure and escalate risk indicators with proposed solutions; develop proposals to improve workflows using AI to streamline manual tasks.
Business Development: Support new brand onboarding including setup, deal tracking, legal document preparation and coordination; perform brand due diligence including financial statement collection and review; work with Brand Account Managers to increase brand awareness and financing product utilization; collaborate with Business Operations and Data teams to develop dashboards and tools for tracking key metrics.
This is a fast-paced, detail-oriented role requiring daily work with live financial data and credit recommendations that carry real financial exposure. You will communicate directly with internal stakeholders and external partners.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 1–3 years of experience in AR/collections, credit/underwriting analysis, financial analysis, or fintech operations. Demonstrated analytical accuracy prioritized over tenure.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or another quantitative field.
- Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills: comfortable building and auditing complex formulas (lookups, weighted scoring models, conditional logic) that feed into financial decisions.
- Financial and credit analysis fundamentals: AR aging, DSO, credit scoring/risk classification, exposure and concentration risk, invoice-finance mechanics.
- Strong data hygiene: attention to detail, verification of source data accuracy, flagging inconsistencies across systems.
- Comfort working with reconciliation across systems (QuickBooks, BI tools, etc.): spotting duplicate entries, misclassified transactions, timing discrepancies.
- Clear, concise communication: writes and speaks in a way that is concise and hospitable.
- Proactive ownership: raises workload or data issues early; grows into representing the team on stakeholder calls.
- Comfort with AI-assisted workflows (e.g., Claude) as an accelerant, paired with independently verifying output.
Nice to have: Prior experience in AR, collections, underwriting, or invoice finance; familiarity with Retool, Drivetrain, Asana, Slack, or HubSpot.
