Evry Health, the major medical division of Globe Life (NYSE:GL), is seeking a Commercial Health Underwriter to join its Underwriting team. This role focuses on evaluating and underwriting new business and renewal opportunities for large group fully insured employer-sponsored health plans while partnering closely with Sales to develop competitive underwriting solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Evaluate and underwrite new business and renewal opportunities for large group fully insured commercial health plans
- Interpret and analyze underlying claims experience to inform underwriting decisions and policy adjustments
- Work closely with sales teams to develop competitive insurance products and strategies, ensuring alignment with company goals and client needs
- Assist in the development of insurance policies or suggest changes to existing policies that balance market needs with company risk
- Stay updated with changes in legislation and regulations that may affect product design and underwriting considerations
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of policies underwritten and decisions made, tracking concessions and experience
- Coordinate with brokers and agents to gather additional information or explain underwriting decisions

The company operates fully remote with headquarters in Dallas, Texas. Business hours are weekdays 9-5 CST. Candidates must be located in EST or CST time zones and have a dedicated work area separate from other living areas with high-speed internet.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial health insurance underwriting (not Medicare, Medicaid, or individual market/ACA plans)
- Experience with large group health insurance underwriting for fully insured business
- Experience working with sales teams in competitive situations (highly desirable)
- Strong analytical skills with ability to evaluate risk and make sound underwriting decisions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with underwriting software and tools
- Knowledge of current healthcare regulations and market trends
