As a Cloud Platform Engineer, you will be a key member of an engineering team responsible for developing, enhancing, and operating cloud solutions that power SonarQube Cloud and SonarQube Server. You will work on AWS infrastructure with a focus on automation, high performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop, enhance, and operate cloud solutions on AWS with emphasis on automation, performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency
- Participate in defining novel cloud solution designs and lead their development
- Work in sprints with cross-functional teams (backend, frontend, SRE, and other Cloud Platform Engineers) to deliver features to production
- Collaborate with other squads in Product Development and Mission Control to ensure solutions integrate into the Sonar platform
- Contribute to squad operations including SLO definition, alarm investigation, and incident response to maintain high service quality
You will see your features come to life in production with short iteration loops while keeping roadmap and business priorities in mind. This role offers high impact on the software you own and develop.
REQUIREMENTS:
Must Have:
- 2+ years of experience architecting, developing, and operating cloud solutions on AWS for Web/API applications
- Knowledge of AWS networking and core services: CloudFront, CloudWatch, ECS, Lambda, RDS, SNS, SQS
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with at least one of: AWS CDK (preferred), AWS CloudFormation, or Terraform/OpenTofu
- Experience with at least one programming language (Python, Java, C#, or similar)
- Experience with at least one scripting language (Bash or similar)
- Experience with on-call operations for global services
- Experience working in agile environments
- Strong DevOps mindset
Nice to Have:
- Proficiency with AWS DynamoDB or OpenSearch
- Proficiency with Ansible or other IaC solutions
- Experience with distributed application architecture and development
- AWS Developer Associate, AWS Solutions Architect, AWS DevOps Engineer, or other relevant AWS certifications
- Experience with Python (preferred), Java, or similar languages
- Experience with AI enablement platforms
