The Cloud Platform team empowers developers to build and deploy applications swiftly, securely, and seamlessly. As a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer, you will be deep in Prolific's technical foundation, ensuring infrastructure remains scalable, reliable, and ready for growth. You will implement automation strategies that reduce complexity, champion best practices, and serve as a trusted technical expert to teams across the organization.
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage and optimize Kubernetes clusters in GKE through Terraform
- Support compliance with SOC2, ISO-27001, and Cyber Essentials standards in cloud environments
- Design and implement golden paths and automation strategies that empower developers to self-serve while reducing operational complexity
- Create and maintain infrastructure solutions allowing development teams to build and deploy safely, easily, and efficiently
- Serve as the technical point-of-contact for GCP and Kubernetes-related queries, providing expertise to other team members
- Participate in a rolling on-call rotation
You will focus on creating developer-focused documentation and self-service solutions that enable teams to easily self-serve, with strong customer empathy and a focus on supporting internal team needs.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience administering and optimizing large-scale Kubernetes clusters
- Strong experience with Kubernetes tooling (Helm, kustomize)
- Strong experience with GitOps tooling and methodologies (ArgoCD)
- Proven experience with Google Cloud Platform services and architecture
- Strong knowledge of GKE and Kubernetes, including maintenance and optimization of production clusters
- Strong experience with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and automation
- Solid programming skills in Python and/or TypeScript
- Experience creating developer-focused documentation and self-service solutions
- Strong customer empathy and focus on supporting internal team needs
Desirable experience:
- Multi-cloud experience with AWS and CDK
- Experience implementing/maintaining cloud compliance standards (SOC2, ISO-27001)
- Familiarity with observability tools like Datadog
- Background in implementing security best practices in cloud infrastructure
