Buena simplifies real estate—from search and financing to purchase and management—by acquiring property management companies across Germany and modernizing them with proprietary software, improved processes, and strong teams. Backed by Google Ventures, the company is working to increase homeownership access and wealth-building opportunities in Germany.
As Chief of Staff to the CEO, you will work directly with the CEO on Buena's most critical challenges. Your responsibilities will grow with the company and span:
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Lead high-impact projects in Operations and Product that advance Buena's mission. You define objectives, assemble the right teams, and drive execution.
- Make informed decisions by analyzing data, researching opportunities, and speaking with stakeholders who understand problems firsthand. You develop clear recommendations for the CEO.
- Ensure consistent execution by translating decisions into clear ownership, deadlines, and next steps. You identify obstacles early and remove them collaboratively with teams.
- Communicate clearly by preparing company updates, leadership team discussions, and investor materials. You distill complex topics into clear, actionable insights.
**What Success Looks Like:**
You thrive in ambiguity and take ownership before receiving detailed instructions. You are comfortable rapidly learning unfamiliar domains, forming independent judgments, and taking responsibility for outcomes—not just activities. You combine high speed with high quality, set clear priorities, and deliver thoughtful results even under pressure.
You are driven by results and accountability. A sent email is not a completed task; you follow through until problems are solved. You push back respectfully on the CEO when warranted, speak directly about difficult topics, and earn trust through clarity and sound judgment.
You have demonstrated exceptional early-career achievement, taking on responsibility well beyond typical for your experience level. You show extreme initiative, persistence in the face of rejection or obstacles, and a commitment to continuous learning and self-improvement.
**Requirements:**
- Fluent in German and English (required for role and Berlin-based work).
- Proven track record of delivering outsized results early in your career, with concrete examples of impact.
- Extreme ownership mentality: you identify problems and drive solutions without waiting for direction.
- Persistence and resilience: you don't accept "no" as final; you understand objections, find alternative approaches, and build consensus.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to rapidly master unfamiliar domains.
- Ability to balance speed and quality, maintain high standards, and deliver under pressure.
- Comfort working directly with C-level executives and challenging them constructively.
- Willingness to work on-site in Berlin-Prenzlauer Berg.
