As a Process Modeller, you will be a core member of the science team responsible for developing mathematical models that power the Basetwo simulation engine. You will work at the intersection of bioprocess engineering, AI, and product development to solve real manufacturing challenges.
Key responsibilities:
- Partner with customers' subject matter experts to understand process challenges and translate them into technical requirements
- Research, develop, and validate mathematical models for pharmaceutical and biologics manufacturing processes
- Contribute to product roadmap and feature development based on customer feedback and technical insights
- Develop research-grade code and implement modeling solutions using Python and scientific computing libraries
- Document research activities and model structures in clear product specification documents
- Advocate for best practices across the modeling and simulation team
- Communicate complex technical work to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, product, and customer success to deliver simulation solutions that directly impact manufacturing efficiency and quality.
Requirements:
- Master's or PhD in Chemical Engineering or related technical field
- 1–4 years of research experience in modeling, optimization, and control of bioprocesses
- Strong foundation in chemical engineering fundamentals: chemical kinetics, thermodynamics, and transport phenomena
- Proficiency developing research-grade code in Python with scientific computing libraries
- Hands-on experience with metabolic flux analysis (MFA) and/or dynamic flux balance analysis (dFBA) is a strong asset
- Demonstrated ability to start and lead interdisciplinary research and engineering projects
- Experience communicating technical projects to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Product-driven mindset with ability to map customer pain points to product features
