AiPrise is a YC-backed (S22) global compliance orchestration platform serving fintechs, marketplaces, and payment companies. The company integrates with 80+ identity and compliance vendors to deliver holistic risk views and is building AI-powered compliance agents to transform KYB, AML, sanctions screening, and risk scoring across 200+ countries.
As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you'll operate at the intersection of engineering, product, and customer success. You'll embed directly with AiPrise's largest and most strategic customers to understand their compliance challenges, build custom integrations, and ship solutions that make the platform indispensable. This is not a typical engineering role—you'll be in the room with customers, scoping problems, writing code, and deploying fixes sometimes in the same day.
Key responsibilities include:
- Customer-facing engineering: embed with key customers to understand their onboarding, KYB, and compliance workflows; translate pain points into technical solutions (custom integrations, new API endpoints, workflow tweaks).
- Build and ship fast: design and deploy customer-specific configurations, integrations with third-party compliance and identity vendors, and custom data pipelines; own the full lifecycle from scoping through production.
- Bridge product and engineering: bring customer insights back to the core product team; identify patterns across customer needs that should become platform features; help shape the roadmap based on field observations.
- Technical problem-solving under pressure: debug production issues in real time; troubleshoot complex vendor integrations across 80+ providers; be the trusted person who gets things working.
- Scale what works: turn one-off solutions into reusable patterns; write internal tooling, documentation, and runbooks that accelerate future deployments.
You'll work with a 36-person, fast-moving team in San Jose where code hits production in days, not months. Your work has direct, measurable impact on customers and revenue with no abstraction layers between you and the outcome.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3+ years of software engineering experience building and shipping production systems
- Strong backend fundamentals; proficiency in at least one modern language (Python, Go, Java, Node.js)
- Experience with REST APIs, microservices, and relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL)
- Customer-facing comfort; ability to communicate clearly with compliance executives and translate business language into technical requirements
- Spanish fluency required (read and write) to support Spanish-speaking customer base directly
- Bias toward action; comfort with ambiguity and ownership
- Cloud experience: hands-on with AWS (preferred), GCP, or Azure; familiarity with CI/CD, Docker, and modern deployment practices
NICE TO HAVE:
- Experience in fintech, regtech, payments, or fraud/risk detection
- Familiarity with compliance workflows (KYC/KYB, AML, sanctions screening)
- Experience integrating with third-party APIs at scale
- Frontend skills (React, TypeScript) for building internal tools or customer-facing dashboards
- Background working with ML/AI systems or data-intensive applications
