Salary: USD 170,000 - 205,000 / annual

As a Staff/Principal Backend Software Engineer, you will shape the technical direction and architecture of the platform. You will lead the design and development of complex software systems, mentor and coach junior engineers in best practices, and drive innovation through new technologies and frameworks. Working closely with product managers, designers, and cross-functional teams, you will be a technical leader who influences the organization's engineering culture and standards.
You are an exceptionally productive engineer known for crafting elegant, maintainable, extensible software. You excel at identifying and eliminating technical debt, advocate for rigorous testing and continuous integration, and take ownership of code quality. You are detail-oriented, passionate about user impact, and actively engage with customers to understand pain points. **Requirements:**
- Bachelor's or Master's degree (or equivalent experience) in computer science, software engineering, or related field
- Substantial professional experience in software development with a solid record of designing, building, and evolving complex software systems over multiple years
- Strong understanding of software design principles, patterns, and best practices
- Expertise in one or more programming languages such as Java, Kotlin, Rust, or C++
- Expertise in backend development for data-intensive applications
- Experience working with databases such as Postgres or MySQL
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with strong attention to detail
- Proven leadership skills with ability to guide and mentor junior engineers
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional team environments
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies and tools such as Scrum or Kanban
