Higgsfield AI is building tools for AI creators, including creative workflows, collaborative projects in Cinema Studio, and a community for sharing work. This backend engineering role combines deep database and architecture expertise with product ownership—you'll own features from conception through production and beyond.
Key responsibilities:
- Build and ship AI creation workflows, Cinema Studio collaboration features, and community capabilities (sharing, discovery, contests, profiles, follows).
- Own features and bugs end-to-end: define API contracts, coordinate with frontend, and deliver through release and follow-up.
- Deliver responsive UX with live progress, timely updates, and clear failure recovery paths.
- Diagnose and remove database and service bottlenecks under high traffic; improve correctness, latency, and reliability.
- Define success metrics, build dashboards and alerts, and track adoption and system health post-launch.
Tech stack: Python (FastAPI), Go (Gin), TypeScript (React/Next.js frontend); PostgreSQL, Redis, BigQuery, ClickHouse; Kafka, SQS, RabbitMQ; AWS (S3, DynamoDB, ECR, Secrets Manager); Docker, Kubernetes on EKS, Helm, Argo CD, GitHub Actions; Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Sentry.
The role demands high agency, ownership, and the ability to work at an intense pace with shifting priorities and urgent production issues. You'll help shape how people create with AI.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Deep database expertise: data modeling, indexes, query plans, partitioning, transactions, locking. Must diagnose production bottlenecks and understand trade-offs.
- Strong architecture judgment: service boundaries, APIs, asynchronous workflows, caching, failure handling. Hands-on Kubernetes and CI/CD experience (design, testing, deployment, debugging).
- Proven track record shipping and operating backend systems across multiple projects, including high-traffic workloads. Must explain decisions and measurable results.
- API security expertise: authentication, object-level authorization, tenant isolation. Must prevent IDOR vulnerabilities and test access controls across users and workspaces.
- Experience building or studying social networks and collaborative tools; can explain design trade-offs in feeds, follow graphs, notifications, sharing permissions, real-time sync, concurrent edits.
- High agency and ownership: find worthwhile problems, propose improvements, remove blockers, follow through independently.
