Higgsfield AI is seeking a Backend Software Engineer to build and maintain the shared infrastructure platform that enables product teams to ship quickly and run reliable services. You will own infrastructure problems end-to-end, from identifying bottlenecks through shipping solutions and supporting them in production.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and building shared services for queues, job scheduling, caching, configuration management, and service communication
- Optimizing concurrency limits, resource allocation, and recovery mechanisms for long-running media workloads
- Enhancing database access patterns, migrations, and connection management for safety and performance
- Streamlining service setup, testing, deployment, and production debugging workflows
- Improving observability, incident investigation, and reducing infrastructure cost per completed job
- Collaborating directly with product engineers to ship focused improvements and measure impact
The team operates on a rapid release cycle (days, not quarters), so you'll see your work in production quickly.
Requirements:
- Proven experience running production systems on Kubernetes (K8s) and AWS, including deployments, scaling, networking, and troubleshooting
- Strong software engineering fundamentals with demonstrated ability to build shared services, tools, and automation used by other engineers
- Deep experience with databases, queues, and distributed systems, including performance debugging, safe rollouts, and recovery procedures
- Track record of owning a difficult production problem from unclear starting point to working solution
- Ability to prioritize, make practical tradeoffs, remove blockers, and seek help when needed
- Clear communication skills, openness to feedback, and commitment to knowledge sharing so others can operate and extend your work
Nice to have:
- Cloudflare experience
- Infrastructure as code expertise
- PostgreSQL, Redis, or event-streaming systems experience
- Background with high-throughput media pipelines or AI workload orchestration
