As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will be a key architect transforming the technical infrastructure powering Mexico's financial ecosystem. Your primary impact will be designing and implementing scalable microservices and high-performance APIs on AWS that support high-load environments. You will solve critical challenges around ensuring agile, secure, and reliable data access while optimizing distributed systems to enable product growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop scalable, resilient, high-performance microservice architectures using AWS services (Lambda, ECS)
- Implement and optimize APIs (REST, GraphQL, gRPC) ensuring maximum security and performance under high load
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code using Python and JavaScript/TypeScript
- Manage and optimize relational and NoSQL database schemas (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB)
- Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate and accelerate software deployments
- Apply best practices in reliability, observability, and monitoring to ensure high system availability
- Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams in product, design, and DevOps
Requirements:
- 6+ years of experience as a Backend Engineer working with scalable distributed systems
- Proficiency in Python (FastAPI, Flask, Django) or JavaScript (Node.js, TypeScript)
- Strong experience with AWS services (Lambda, ECS, S3, DynamoDB, RDS)
- Experience designing APIs (REST, GraphQL, gRPC) and managing relational/NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB)
- Ability to collaborate with multifunctional teams and mentor other engineers
- Strong problem-solving skills, strategic decision-making, and results-oriented mindset
Nice-to-have:
- Prior experience in Fintech or high-traffic platforms
- Ability to implement AI tools to optimize workflow
