You will join the Autopilot team, one of the newest and most ambitious initiatives in the product organization. Autopilot is building the automation and agent layer for the Staffbase platform, enabling customers to configure event-driven, rule-based, and agentic workflows.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and improve RESTful web services, including integrating LLMs into services, with some involvement in web-based clients
- Work in a cross-functional Scrum team to produce high-quality, tested code
- Participate in code reviews and architectural advisory forums, learning from and sharing knowledge with peers
- Use AI coding tools to move faster while maintaining ownership of design and code quality; keep PRs small and reviewable
- Take ownership of features you build, code quality, and team environment
- Work iteratively with frequent code pushes, ensuring a strong CI/CD pipeline and automating where possible

REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Backend Engineer experience in Go, Java/Kotlin, and relational databases (Postgres) or NoSQL databases (MongoDB)
- Ideally, experience with Docker, GitHub Actions, Kubernetes, Prometheus, or Grafana
- Good understanding of REST and Microservices architecture
- Sound understanding of testing practices and responsibility for code quality and correctness
- Preferably, experience working in an agile environment
- Value clean code and continuous learning
- Good English communication skills
- Self-starter who takes initiative while collaborating well with others
