Oden Technologies is a Manufacturing AI company transforming factory operations through real-time data processing, advanced ML/AI algorithms, and intelligent monitoring. The company helps manufacturing operations teams continuously monitor, analyze, and optimize production across diverse processes.
As a Backend Software Engineer on the Product Engineering team, you will design, build, and deploy backend software at scale to power Oden's data platform. The team owns foundational data infrastructure: services, runtimes, and infrastructure that deliver reliable, performant data across the business. Key responsibilities include building robust backend services, strengthening core data infrastructure, providing monitoring and observability tooling, and supporting AI models and LLM features with production-grade data backends.
This is a senior to staff-level role requiring an AI-forward mindset. You'll be comfortable building with AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, etc.) for coding and design, and building AI-native products. The role emphasizes experimentation and research spikes alongside execution. You'll work closely with Product, Data Science, and fellow Engineers in a cross-functional, primarily internal-facing capacity.
The position is based in Brazil or Argentina, full-time, with required availability 9:00 AM–5:00 PM Eastern Time. Note: Visa sponsorship is not available; candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of professional backend engineering experience (senior to staff level)
- Proficiency in one or more backend-focused programming languages: Go, Java, Python, C++, Rust, or similar
- Familiarity with data storage and processing systems in cloud environments
- Track record of building and operating reliable, production-grade services at scale
- AI-forward mindset: build with AI tools for coding, design, collaboration, and knowledge documentation; experience building or contributing to infrastructure that lets others (including AI agents) extend or adapt your work
- Tinkering mindset: energized by experimentation and open-ended research spikes, not just prescriptive spec work
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally with engineers and non-technical stakeholders
PREFERRED:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
