Salary: USD 110,000 - 168,000 / annual
Reliable Robotics is building safety-enhancing automation technology for aviation to enable safer, more convenient air transportation. The company is developing automated systems that will transform how goods and people move globally, drawing on expertise from aerospace, robotics, and autonomous vehicle engineering.
As an Avionics Hardware Engineer, you will design, analyze, document, test, and troubleshoot electronic assemblies from circuit board through integrated electro-mechanical systems. You will own hardware development across airborne and test platforms, collaborating with electrical, mechanical, software, manufacturing, and test engineers. Your responsibilities include:
- Design and development of electrical components and sub-systems for automation systems
- Circuit board and integrated systems design, analysis, and documentation
- Benchtop, environmental, and on-aircraft testing of hardware
- Root-cause investigation and troubleshooting in a safety-critical environment
- Cross-functional collaboration as the hardware expert on your systems
- Continuous improvement through iterative testing and deployment
The role is on-site in Mountain View, CA with approximately 10% travel required.
REQUIREMENTS:
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent professional experience
- Demonstrated ability to complete and ship projects and deliverables
- Professional experience with ECAD tools such as Altium
- Strong ability to work within a team with excellent written and verbal communication
- Methodical approach to diagnosing, documenting, and solving electronic hardware problems
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional experience with full electronics product lifecycle from conceptual design through production
- Hands-on experience with analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuit design, analysis, test, and debug
- Experience designing electronics to meet rigorous environmental standards (aerospace, military, automotive, or harsh industrial environments)
- Proficiency with Python and/or MATLAB for analysis, data review, and test setup scripting
