Impulse is seeking an Automation and Controls Engineer to design and commission industrial machinery and systems for R&D, test, and production environments. You will own all aspects of equipment design from concept through requirements definition and commissioning, working closely with a fast-paced, agile team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and commissioning of industrial machinery and systems for R&D, test, and production
- Generate electrical and fluid system schematics in EPlan to required standards
- Write and debug maintainable, scalable PLC software in TwinCAT
- Program various industrial controls hardware including VFDs, motor starters, and PLCs
- Select application-specific hardware such as circuit protection, VFDs, motion systems, and robots
- Develop user-friendly HMIs that support diagnostics and troubleshooting
- Collaborate with end users to ensure equipment meets design intent
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field
- 2+ years of work experience in manufacturing, test, or R&D environments
- 1+ years of PLC programming experience
