BlueOptima is seeking an Associate SDET to join its Belfast team, which develops and maintains automated test cases for Active MultiSite, a distributed version control solution. The role focuses on test automation for scalable, remotely deployed application components, with responsibility for both UI and API testing.
You will work with engineering and architecture teams to implement test automation strategies, create and maintain automated test suites within CI/CD pipelines, and ensure adequate automation coverage across the product. Key responsibilities include:
- Implementing test automation plans in collaboration with engineering and architecture teams
- Creating and maintaining test automation (UI and API) integrated into CI/CD pipelines
- Verifying expected code behavior prior to product releases
- Expanding overall automation suite coverage
- Generating reports for stakeholders
The team is focused on reducing manual testing efforts and accelerating release cycles through prioritized test automation and seamless CI/CD integration. You will be expected to own solutions end-to-end, collaborate with other engineers to improve QA processes, and demonstrate strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
The role is hybrid, requiring 3 days in office and 2 days remote from the Belfast location. REQUIREMENTS:
Key Proficiencies:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/IT OR 1–3 years of professional experience in software development or software testing
- Experience writing code in an Object-Oriented language (Java preferred)
- Experience with version control systems (Git, Subversion)
Desired Skills:
- 1+ year of test automation experience
- Web-page automation experience, preferably Selenium and Java
- Experience testing distributed systems
- Linux administration, packaging, and command-line proficiency
- Scripting languages (Shell, Bash, Python)
- Virtualization/containerization technologies
- Test automation frameworks (JUnit, TestNG)
