BlueOptima is seeking an Associate SDET to join the Belfast team, which develops and maintains automated test cases for Active MultiSite, a distributed version control solution. This role focuses on test automation across UI and API layers, with emphasis on data-centric and integration testing.
You will work closely with engineering and architecture teams to design and implement test automation strategies, create and maintain automated test suites within CI/CD pipelines, and ensure product quality prior to releases. Key responsibilities include increasing automation coverage, integrating test suites with CI/CD systems to enable smooth feature delivery, and curating quality reports for stakeholders. The role requires attention to detail, genuine commitment to technology, and a collaborative approach to improving the QA process end-to-end.
The Belfast team is responsible for reducing manual testing efforts and accelerating release cycles through strategic test automation. You will contribute to maintaining high quality standards across a distributed solution that serves global enterprises, including Fortune 50 companies and major banks.

REQUIREMENTS:
Key Proficiencies:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or related technical discipline with project work on automation and testing (recent graduates encouraged)
- Experience writing code in Object-Oriented languages such as Java
- Experience with version control systems (Git, Subversion)
Desired Skills:
- Academic projects, internships, or practical experience with test automation (preferably Selenium and Java)
- Basic understanding of testing distributed systems
- Exposure to Linux administration, command-line usage, and scripting (Shell, Bash, Python)
- Knowledge of virtualization/containerization technologies (Docker)
- Familiarity with test automation frameworks (JUnit, TestNG)
