Salary: USD 63,000 - 68,000 / annual
MISUMI Americas, a division of MISUMI Group, is a leading provider of standard, configurable, and custom manufacturing solutions. The company integrates a vast catalog of components with a digital manufacturing platform to serve engineers and procurement teams across the Americas, with operations in the San Francisco Bay Area and Chicago.
The Associate Counsel will provide legal support in general corporate and commercial matters, including contract negotiation and management, regulatory compliance, and risk mitigation while balancing business and operational needs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Advising on legal issues relating to company business practices
- Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating contracts, agreements, corporate policies, and standard operating procedures
- Assisting with regulatory compliance matters
- Reviewing and updating confidentiality agreements
- Developing legal training materials
- Supporting maintenance of executed agreements and corporate documents
- Additional duties as assigned
The position is 100% remote but the ability to work at least one day per week from one of the company's facilities (Schaumburg, IL; Dayton, OH; Fraser, MI; Bellaire, MI; or Querétaro, Mexico) is a plus. Travel up to 5% annually (globally) for meetings and conferences is required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree required (Engineering or other technical degrees are a plus)
- Juris Doctorate required
- Must be a licensed attorney in good standing to practice law in the United States
- Previous legal experience is a plus but not required
- Self-starter capable of working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, multi-cultural environment
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills required
- Strong analytic, critical thinking, and sound judgment abilities with meticulous attention to detail required
- Spanish/Japanese bilingual abilities and/or experience living in Japan or working with Japanese companies are a plus
