Oscar Health is seeking an Associate Director of Financial Planning & Analysis to join its Finance team in New York. Oscar is a health insurance company built on a full-stack technology platform, founded in 2012 with a focus on member-centric service.
In this role, you will support the coordination of budgeting, monitoring, analyzing, and forecasting the department or company's overall financial performance. You will play a critical role in consolidating financial results and providing valuable insights to senior leadership about financial trajectory. You will report to the Senior Director, FP&A.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the consolidated budget and re-forecasting process to ensure alignment with operating plan, external guidance, and financial targets
- Driving production and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports, highlighting key trends and variances for leadership and investor relations
- Assisting with development of cost allocation management frameworks aligned with the operating model
- Providing insight into internal finance processes, including oversight of financial planning systems, data integrity, and reporting capabilities
- Managing and coaching high-performing corporate FP&A professionals
- Communicating financial results, trends, and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders in a clear manner
The position is hybrid, based in the New York office, requiring 3 days per week in-office. Thursdays are mandatory for team meetings and events; the other two office days are flexible.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience in FP&A roles
- 3+ years of demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving experience
- 3+ years of expert financial modeling experience with ability to translate data into actionable insights, strategies, and financial plans
Bonus qualifications:
- Experience in health insurance, managed care, or insurance industries
- MBA in Finance or MS in Financial Analysis
- Proficiency in SQL/BigQuery for analyzing large data sets
- Proficiency with Workday and Adaptive systems
