ElevenLabs is an AI research and product company that has transformed voice interaction technology since launching in January 2023. The company now serves millions of users and thousands of businesses including Deutsche Telekom and Meta, with a $22B valuation and $781M in funding from top-tier investors like Andreessen Horowitz and Sequoia.
The company operates three main platforms: ElevenAgents (for deploying voice and chat agents at scale with integrations and monitoring), ElevenCreative (for generating and editing speech, music, image, and video across 70+ languages), and ElevenAPI (providing access to leading AI audio foundational models).
In this Applied AI Engineer role, you will build agents that run real parts of the business, take on real work, and improve based on results. You'll work with the most capable tools available—ElevenLabs' own agents platform, latest orchestration tools, and frontier models. The core challenge is making agents reliable, measurable, and safe enough for the business to depend on.
You'll be positioned in Marketing Engineering and forward-deployed to growth pods, where you'll identify high-impact problems and own solutions end-to-end. This could involve being a forward-deployed builder, an applied AI engineer who moves agents beyond proof-of-concept, or a full-stack engineer interested in growth. You'll measure outcomes and ensure what you build delivers real value.
ElevenLabs operates with a high-velocity, impact-focused culture: rapid experimentation, lean autonomous teams, minimal bureaucracy, and AI-first thinking across the entire organization. The company prioritizes talent over location and provides learning stipends, annual co-working allowances, and company offsites.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, LLM APIs, and agent orchestration frameworks
- Demonstrated track record shipping production systems that others relied on, starting from vague problems
- Experience building with LLMs beyond demos; ability to evaluate models and understand failure modes
- Ability to measure and validate whether built solutions work
- Bonus: experience with GTM data or marketing systems
