Anthropic is seeking an Applied AI Demo Engineer to build demos, reference implementations, and reusable tooling that help customer-facing teams showcase Claude's capabilities. This role sits at the intersection of product engineering, technical storytelling, and go-to-market execution. You will own end-to-end, high-leverage projects: prototyping agentic experiences for new capabilities and hardening them into reliable assets that other teams can independently operate. You'll work closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Operations, Sales, and Solutions teams, translating customer-facing insights back to product builders. Key responsibilities include: - Owning demo readiness for new Claude capabilities (environments, integrations, synthetic data, evaluations, reliability checks, fallback paths) - Building prototypes, agents, and reference flows that make complex capabilities concrete and tie to customer outcomes - Converting recurring requests into reusable accelerators (companion apps, templates, Skills, plugins, self-service packages) - Partnering with GTM colleagues on high-impact customer moments and unblocking critical technical gaps - Building internal agentic systems that automate demo preparation, validation, and asset maintenance - Translating customer patterns into product feedback and launch-readiness priorities - Defining and raising the bar for demo quality across accuracy, safety, reliability, usability, and adoption - Deciding when customer needs warrant bespoke builds versus shared capabilities Success looks like customer-facing teams demonstrating new capabilities sooner and with more confidence, recurring requests becoming reusable assets, and field insights shaping product decisions. Because demos are often a customer's first impression of model capabilities, accuracy and honesty matter as much as polish. Anthropic's mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems that are safe and beneficial for users and society. The company is a rapidly growing team of researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders. Requirements: - Proficiency in Python or TypeScript with experience shipping working software end to end - Hands-on experience building applications or agents on top of LLM APIs (prompting, tool use, retrieval) - Experience designing integrations with third-party APIs, data sources, and services - Ability to take ambiguous capabilities or customer needs to working prototypes quickly, then make them reliable - Clear communication of technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences - Comfort collaborating across Product, Engineering, Marketing, Operations, and GTM teams - Prior experience in demo engineering, solutions engineering, sales engineering, forward deployed engineering, developer relations, or product engineering - Track record of building reusable internal tools, templates, or self-service assets adopted by other teams Preferred qualifications: - Hands-on experience with Claude Code, Claude Agent SDK, Model Context Protocol (MCP), Skills, or plugins - Experience building evaluation or validation harnesses for AI systems with reliability checks and graceful fallbacks - Experience building always-on or scheduled agentic systems that automate internal workflows - Experience building synthetic or sanitized datasets for realistic demos without exposing sensitive information - Front-end or product design skills - Experience supporting product launches or running launch-readiness programs - History of turning field feedback into concrete product input that influenced roadmaps - Passion for making powerful technology safe and beneficial with commitment to accurate, honest capability representation Minimum education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and professional experience in a field relevant to the role. Hybrid policy: Currently expect all staff in offices at least 25% of the time; some roles may require more. Visa sponsorship available.
