Overview.ai is deploying GPU-powered AI computer vision systems on manufacturing production lines worldwide. The company builds full-stack solutions: edge-deployed cameras, inference systems, and a platform managing large fleets of devices. You will be based on-site in Mexicali as a field applications engineer supporting a major manufacturing customer. This is a hands-on role where you install Overview's camera systems, integrate them with existing industrial controls (PLCs), and maintain vision systems under live production constraints. You are the technical face of Overview at the plant—not a remote resource—and own the technical execution end-to-end with minimal bureaucracy. Key responsibilities: - Physically install Overview cameras, lighting, and hardware on production lines and validate setup - Configure systems to work with existing PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens, GE, Beckhoff); map I/O and set up communication protocols - Diagnose and troubleshoot connector, continuity, signal timing, encoder feedback, and I/O issues in live production without stopping lines - Validate speed, accuracy, and reliability on real production lines; tune for lighting, vibration, and material variation - Train operators, maintenance staff, and engineers on system operation and first-line troubleshooting - Serve as technical point of contact through installation, ramp-up, and initial production operation - Write configuration records and setup guides for the customer's team - Provide product feedback on real-world constraints and failure modes to the engineering team You will grow across three technical stacks simultaneously: industrial controls, machine vision, and AI systems in production. Your work has immediate, visible impact—you see the results of what you build the same day you build it. REQUIREMENTS: - 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in industrial automation with a background in controls, mechatronics, or electrical engineering - Direct experience with PLC systems (Allen Bradley, Siemens, or similar): configuring I/O, reading documentation, troubleshooting connectivity, comfortable with ladder logic or structured text - Experience installing, configuring, or integrating hardware on live production equipment without disrupting existing controls - Ability to troubleshoot electrical and hardware problems on-site using a multimeter, oscilloscope, or continuity tester; working understanding of voltage, current, and signal integrity - Time on a manufacturing floor and understanding of downtime pressure and production constraints - Based in Mexicali or willing to relocate there; able to work to customer shift schedules and production priorities - Professional working proficiency in English and Spanish (required for collaboration with local plant team and Overview engineering) STRONG PREFERENCES: - Experience with vision systems or industrial cameras (setup, focus, lighting) - Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Modbus, serial) - Experience training operators and engineers on new systems - Comfort working independently and making technical decisions in the field - Experience with Allen Bradley CompactLogix/ControlLogix or Siemens S7-1200/S7-1500
