Network Bio is a biomedical data company founded in 2022 and backed by leading investors including S32, Breyer Capital, Founders Fund, and JSL Health Capital. The company helps healthcare institutions unlock the value of their biobanks by building a secure, de-identified repository of clinical and molecular data to accelerate precision medicine research. The platform integrates streamlined biobanking with advanced data analytics for faster diagnostics and breakthrough therapy development. You will join the computational team as an AI Scientist, working across three core domains: Artificial Intelligence, Bioinformatics, and Software Engineering. In Machine Learning, you will design, optimize, and validate deep-learning models for high-dimensional biological data including histopathological slides, spatial transcriptomics, and structured clinical datasets. You'll translate biological insights into modeling strategies and support model interpretability, robustness, and validation in regulated or translational research contexts. In Agentic AI, you will architect and build agentic AI systems that reason over multiple steps, plan autonomously, and orchestrate external tools. You'll develop LLM-driven agents that retrieve, prioritize, and synthesize evidence with memory and feedback loops, allowing them to revise hypotheses and adapt as new data emerges. You'll engineer production-grade infrastructure that unifies structured and unstructured biomedical data at scale and rigorously assess robustness, reliability, and interpretability of autonomous systems in high-stakes clinical contexts. In Software Engineering, you will apply best practices to ensure reproducible and efficient scientific discovery. You'll develop tools and services supporting experiment tracking, reproducibility, and quality control, and perform software validation and documentation in research or regulated diagnostic contexts. The team operates with speed and efficiency by leveraging modern productivity tools. You will broaden your knowledge base by rapidly acquiring new biological concepts and technical skills outside your primary expertise. You'll accelerate development by leveraging AI coding agents for implementation and testing while focusing on architectural rigor and system logic. You'll act as the ultimate auditor to identify subtle AI-generated hallucinations in code or scientific reasoning before they reach production systems. Network Bio offers a hybrid work model blending remote flexibility with in-person collaboration. The culture is inclusive and team-driven, with opportunities for growth and advancement built into the organization's DNA. Compensation includes a competitive salary, equity stake in the company, and benefits including medical, vision, dental, and 401(k). REQUIREMENTS: - First-author contribution to state-of-the-art AI model publications in competitive journals or conferences - Proven ability to drive end-to-end development on major projects - Ph.D. in Machine Learning, Bioinformatics, or related field - Open to recent Ph.D. graduates, postdocs, and early-career candidates with up to 5 years of post-Ph.D. experience
