Harmony is Monday.com's new AI venture focused on next-generation conversational AI and agentic systems. You'll join a small, highly autonomous startup-like team working on AI that plans, reasons, and acts—not just reacts.
In this role, you'll conduct cutting-edge research on novel algorithms and deep learning architectures to advance in-house NLP and conversational models. Key responsibilities include:
• Research and design new deep learning architectures for NLP and conversational AI systems.
• Develop methods to translate customer goals into structured representations with controlled states and real-time observations.
• Design the reasoning layer that orchestrates in-house AI models alongside various LLMs, enabling agents to adapt their policy throughout conversations while maintaining alignment with customer objectives.
• Build analytical tools to trace AI decision processes across large conversation corpora, providing visibility into reasoning and behavior.
• Collaborate closely with engineers and product teams to translate research into production-scale systems.
• Proactively lead new technical initiatives and ideas.
You'll have access to large-scale real-world data, substantial compute resources, and the freedom to move fast while shaping the AI vision. The team values ownership, agility, and startup-like pace within a well-resourced environment.
REQUIREMENTS:
• MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or closely related field.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Strong theoretical background in machine learning and deep learning principles.
• Solid understanding of NLP concepts and linguistic principles (co-reference, natural language inference, grammatical relations, etc.).
• Experience using statistics and information theory to evaluate AI models and conduct exploratory data analysis.
• 4+ years of experience conducting NLP research with deep learning models and frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, or similar).
• Experience shipping AI systems from research to production.
• Experience with conversational AI agents is a plus.
• Publications at top-tier conferences (ACL, EMNLP, NeurIPS, ICML, CVPR) are a plus.
