Legion is an AI infrastructure company born from a Department of Defense partnership, trusted by government and enterprise leaders. The company builds secure, reliable agentic AI systems that embed intelligence into complex, mission-critical platforms—working alongside people rather than replacing workflows.
You'll join as an Agentic AI Engineer to bridge Legion's AI platform capabilities and real customer outcomes. This is an end-to-end engineering role where you'll take platform components (agents, workflows, memory, reasoning, integrations, tools) and transform them into polished, production-ready applications that deliver measurable customer value.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building agentic applications that solve real customer use cases using Legion's platform
- Designing agentic workflows, plugins, and tool integrations with measurable impact
- Translating ambiguous problems into intuitive AI experiences
- Rapidly prototyping, gathering feedback, and shipping production-ready solutions
- Partnering with platform engineers to inform abstractions and reusable components
- Identifying patterns across deployments and evolving them into products
- Owning customer-facing quality across UX, reliability, performance, and evaluation
You'll work in a collaborative environment with product and platform teams, moving quickly from concept to working product while maintaining high engineering standards. The role emphasizes strong product instincts, rapid iteration, and a growth mindset.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Engineering, or related discipline
- 3–5 years of software engineering experience
- Production experience building agentic AI applications using AI agents, workflows, MCP, and tool orchestration
- Ability to move quickly from idea to working product while maintaining engineering quality
- Strong product instincts and judgment about usefulness
- Experience integrating APIs, enterprise systems, and external data sources
- Excellent communication and collaboration across engineering and product teams
- Growth mindset, low ego, openness to new tools and changing course
- Commitment to fostering collaboration, psychological safety, and technical excellence
- Strong advocate for inclusion in technical discussions
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Start-up or 0→1 product environment experience
- Solid understanding of AI security practices (RBAC/ABAC, audit logging, prompt-level safeguards)
- Exposure to regulated or sensitive industries (finance, healthcare, telecoms)
