Forgepoint is building AI workers for manufacturing back-office departments (quoting, purchasing, invoicing, sales coordination) to help American manufacturers compete globally. This is a client-facing technical role at the intersection of customers, product, and applied AI.
You will own customer agent deployments end-to-end: map workflows, prioritize requirements, write SOPs and prompts, build evals, configure tools and guardrails, launch with users, and improve performance over time. The work is hands-on and fast-moving, working directly with American manufacturers to understand their business, turn messy requirements into clear agent behaviors, and deploy reliable AI that delivers measurable value.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead agent deployments from discovery through configuration, go-live, quantified ROI, and ongoing improvement
- Map complex customer workflows and translate them into focused requirements, SOPs, prompts, tools, guardrails, approvals, and handoffs
- Build evals and test cases that measure agent quality, expose failure modes, and guide iteration
- Configure and launch agents, monitor real-world performance, investigate failures, and improve reliability
- Run customer workshops, communicate tradeoffs clearly, and manage dependencies to keep deployments moving
- Learn complex customer domains quickly and advocate for customer needs with product and engineering teams
- Turn repeated deployment problems into reusable patterns, tooling, and product improvements
You'll work in person five days a week in NYC, travel to customer sites across the US, and collaborate directly with customer teams from shop floor to executive level.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 4+ years of experience in software engineering or client-facing technical roles (forward deployed engineering, solutions engineering, implementation consulting)
- Technical strength: comfortable writing code, prompting LLMs, building evals, and learning new agent-engineering techniques
- Ability to scope ambiguous requirements, prioritize aggressively, and design simple solutions within real constraints
- Exceptional communication skills: run customer workshops, present with confidence, build trust across organizational levels
- Highly organized and process-oriented: manage multiple deployments, track details, use metrics, close every loop
- Quick learner of complex domains; combine customer empathy with product mindset
- Ambitious, resourceful, action-oriented, team-first; excited to work in person five days a week and travel
BONUS:
- Experience building and operating agentic systems in production
- Manufacturing or industrial/operationally complex domain experience
- SOP creation or change-management leadership
- Third-party API or legacy system integration and deployment experience
