Innovaccer is a healthcare data platform company that helps hospitals, clinics, and health insurance companies unify fragmented patient data and turn it into actionable insights. The company is expanding its AI agent capabilities in partnership with AWS.
You will lead the Gravity Core Platform team, which owns the foundational infrastructure for Innovaccer's multi-tenant Data Activation Platform (DAP). Gravity handles tenant lifecycle management, multi-tenancy, PTH (the cross-plane API gateway managing authentication, authorization, and tenant-scoped routing), identity and access management, and shared services that downstream teams depend on.
In this role, you will:
**People Leadership**
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of backend and platform engineers
- Own hiring, performance management, and career development
- Run day-to-day engineering execution: sprint planning, technical reviews, and stakeholder communication on progress and risk
**Technical Roadmap & Architecture**
- Own the technical roadmap for Gravity's core platform, including control plane services, compute/data plane architecture, multi-tenant isolation, and tenant lifecycle management
- Drive design and delivery of PTH, the platform's cross-plane API gateway
- Partner with staff/principal engineers and architects on scalability, multi-cloud deployment models (customer-managed, Innovaccer-managed, hybrid), and security posture
**Reliability, Security & Operations**
- Own platform reliability: SLAs, incident response, and cost efficiency in a multi-tenant, healthcare-grade environment (HIPAA, encryption-in-transit, PrivateLink-only networking)
- Set and uphold engineering standards (code quality, testing, observability, on-call practices) for infrastructure that other teams depend on
**Collaboration**
- Work cross-functionally with Product, SRE/DevOps, Security, and dependent engineering teams to align priorities and de-risk shared roadmaps
**Requirements**
Must-Haves:
- 10+ years in software engineering, including 3+ years directly managing engineering teams
- Strong hands-on background in distributed systems, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure (AWS and/or Azure)
- Experience building or operating multi-tenant SaaS platforms, API gateways, or identity/authorization systems at scale
- Track record leading platform or infrastructure teams that other engineering teams depend on, with comfort owning uptime and reliability
- Working knowledge of microservices architectures, event-driven systems (e.g., Kafka), and modern data infrastructure (e.g., Spark/Databricks, Snowflake, Postgres, MongoDB, Redis)
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with ability to represent technical tradeoffs clearly to engineers and leadership
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
Good to Have:
- Experience in healthcare technology, with familiarity with HIPAA, FHIR, or healthcare interoperability standards
- Experience with GitOps tooling (e.g., ArgoCD) and workflow orchestration platforms (e.g., Temporal)
- Background in secrets management, network security, and zero-trust or PrivateLink-based architectures
- Experience operating platforms across multiple deployment models (customer-hosted, vendor-hosted, hybrid)
