Vensure Employer Solutions, the largest privately held HR technology and service organization, is seeking a Payroll Specialist to support payroll processing for a growing client base. The company serves over 95,000 businesses and processes over $135B in annual payroll. In this role, you will be responsible for day-to-day payroll processing support for scheduled and off-cycle payrolls. Key responsibilities include importing or manually entering payroll changes (hours, employee updates, earnings, deductions, tax overrides); calculating payroll and confirming accurate entry of client data through control totals and manual review; responding timely and accurately to client inquiries via email, cases, and phone; partnering with Payroll Supervisors on special projects; and managing an assigned book of business. You will also build and maintain relationships with team members and peers across disciplines, attend training to stay current on best practices, and complete projects as assigned. The role requires strong time management, accurate record-keeping, and adherence to established schedules and compliance requirements. You must be able to multitask while maintaining high accuracy and attention to detail. This is a computer-intensive position in a professional office environment, requiring extended periods at a desk, frequent monitor use, and sustained visual focus on detailed payroll data. You will interact regularly with clients and internal teams through email, phone, and virtual platforms while handling confidential employee information. REQUIREMENTS: - High school diploma or equivalent (or combination of relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, or job training) - Minimum one year of customer service experience - At least one year of payroll experience preferred (not required) - Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and demonstrated ability to learn other applications - Intermediate to advanced Excel proficiency (formulas, pivot tables, data validation) - Strong verbal and written communication skills - Analytical thinking and problem-solving ability - Ability to exercise good judgment and work with cross-functional departments (HR, Finance, Operations)
