Keeper Security, a fast-growing cybersecurity software company protecting millions of users and thousands of organizations globally, is hiring a Technical SEO Developer to join the Product Marketing and Search Optimization team. This is a 100% remote position with an option to work hybrid from Chicago, IL or El Dorado Hills, CA.
In this role, you will combine hands-on web development expertise with technical SEO knowledge to improve Keeper's global websites across search visibility, crawlability, site performance and user experience. You will work closely with Search Optimization, Product Marketing and Engineering teams to identify technical issues, implement fixes and ensure new and existing web experiences follow SEO best practices.
Key responsibilities include conducting technical SEO audits focused on crawlability, indexation, site architecture, internal linking, redirects, canonicalization, JavaScript rendering and Core Web Vitals. You will monitor and improve website health using tools such as Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, Semrush and PageSpeed Insights. You'll identify technical issues affecting organic search performance and work with Development, Design and Marketing teams to resolve them.
You will support SEO implementation across WordPress, including metadata, structured data, XML sitemaps, robots.txt, redirects and page-level optimizations. You'll analyze how Keeper content appears in Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity and other AI search experiences, applying GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) principles to improve content structure, entity clarity and topical authority.
Additional responsibilities include implementing SEO and GEO recommendations directly when possible or providing clear technical requirements for Development; using AI-assisted tools to improve development, analysis and auditing; automating recurring SEO workflows; supporting international SEO across localized web experiences; staying current on search algorithm changes and technical SEO best practices; troubleshooting issues across HTML, CSS, JavaScript, rendering and content management systems; and maintaining documentation of technical SEO standards.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3+ years of professional web development experience with hands-on technical SEO responsibilities
- Strong proficiency with HTML, CSS and JavaScript
- Experience developing, maintaining and troubleshooting production websites
- Hands-on experience implementing technical SEO requirements (canonical tags, redirects, structured data, metadata, XML sitemaps, robots.txt)
- Strong understanding of search engine crawling, rendering and indexing behavior
- Experience identifying and resolving duplicate content, canonicalization, redirect and site architecture issues
- Experience with international SEO concepts (hreflang, localization, multilingual website architecture)
- Understanding of website performance, Core Web Vitals and frontend optimization
- Familiarity with modern web frameworks, content management systems and Git-based development workflows
- Experience using technical SEO and web analysis tools (Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, Sitebulb or similar)
- Familiarity with web analytics platforms and using data to evaluate website and search performance
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills across web development and SEO layers
- Ability to work effectively across Product Marketing, Search Optimization and Engineering teams
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify technical issues across large websites
- Ability and willingness to use AI-assisted development and analysis tools
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Development, Information Systems, Marketing Technology or related field, or equivalent practical experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience supporting large, global or multilingual websites
- Experience with React, Next.js or similar modern JavaScript frameworks
- Familiarity with server-side rendering, static site generation and JavaScript SEO
- Experience implementing schema.org structured data and validating rich-result eligibility
- Experience with Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics or similar analytics platforms
- Familiarity with CDN, caching and website delivery technologies
- Experience automating technical SEO audits using JavaScript, Python or similar scripting languages
- Experience with A/B testing, conversion rate optimization or website experimentation
- Experience working in SaaS, cybersecurity or technology-focused environments
