vCluster Labs is seeking a Technical Writer to join its documentation team. You will write and maintain conceptual, how-to, and reference documentation for vCluster, vCluster Platform, vMetal, and related tenant-isolation concepts. This is a hands-on role requiring you to actually run the software—standing up tenant clusters yourself to verify procedures, capture screenshots, and confirm CLI output before publishing.
Key responsibilities include:
- Writing and maintaining conceptual, how-to, and reference documentation across the vCluster product suite
- Standing up tenant clusters to verify procedures and confirm technical accuracy
- Collaborating with engineers on design docs, tickets, and documentation gaps surfaced by support and sales
- Contributing to product information architecture, naming conventions, hierarchy, and concept organization
- Reviewing and editing documentation for consistency with terminology and style guides
- Using AI tools in your writing workflow to draft, verify, and automate documentation tasks

Requirements:
- 2+ years of technical writing experience with demonstrated strong writing skills
- Working knowledge of Kubernetes fundamentals (pods, namespaces, control planes) and comfort using a terminal (kubectl, helm)
- Familiarity with ticket trackers (GitHub Issues, Jira, Linear, or similar)
- Experience with async collaboration, automated style/lint enforcement (e.g., Vale), and versioned documentation workflows
- Comfort and enthusiasm for using AI in your writing workflow
Bonus qualifications:
- Prior experience with container orchestration, platform engineering, or infrastructure tooling
- Experience with Docusaurus, MDX, or similar documentation tools
- Start-up experience in high-growth environments with comfort for ambiguity
