Millennium Computer Systems Limited (MCSL), part of Banyan Software, is seeking a Technical Solutions Consultant to work directly with higher-education clients on technical support and custom development. MCSL has built software for colleges and universities since 1996, with its flagship product Millennium FAST—a web-based reporting and analytics platform for financial, student, HR, and budgeting data. FAST sits alongside major ERPs like Ellucian Banner and Oracle PeopleSoft, delivering over 20 million reports annually to institutions across Canada, the US, and Australia, with a 98% client retention rate.
In this role, you will diagnose and resolve technical issues in client environments, write and modify Oracle SQL and PL/SQL code to fix problems, and escalate fixes into MCSL's development environment as needed. You'll deliver custom development work for clients, explain technical problems and solutions clearly to non-technical stakeholders, and collaborate closely with the Technical Solutions lead while taking on increasing responsibility for the team's client work. You'll also expand your technical skills across MCSL's broader stack, including ASP.NET, Visual Studio, and JavaScript, as the work demands.
This is a full-time, permanent role based remotely within Canada, with core working hours 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time. Banyan Software is a permanent-capital holding company founded in 2016 that acquires and grows specialized software businesses long-term, with over 120 portfolio companies across North and South America, Europe, and APAC.
Requirements:
- 3–5 years of hands-on development experience with Oracle SQL and PL/SQL, including writing and modifying code (not just support or triage)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with ability to work directly with clients
- Ability to work 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time
- Strongly preferred: Experience with Ellucian Banner (technical or functional)
- Nice to have: Exposure to ASP.NET, Visual Studio, or JavaScript; experience in higher education or with university/college clients; track record of quickly learning new languages and tools
