The company is rebuilding biotech for the AI era by enabling scientists to design experiments, capture structured data, and run AI agents directly in their workflows.
As a Technical Solutions Architect, you will be the key technical partner bridging customer needs and internal engineering teams. You'll work with customer developers and IT leaders at cutting-edge biotech organizations to understand their complex IT landscapes—including scientific software, informatics systems, and instruments—and design solutions that integrate Benchling into their ecosystems.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead technical consulting engagements with enterprise IT professionals to assess their informatics landscape and recommend Benchling integration strategies
- Design, prototype, and oversee delivery of cloud-based integrations and automations using Benchling's developer platform
- Engage cross-functionally with product and engineering teams to communicate customer feedback and align solutions with the product roadmap
- Collaborate with project and implementation managers on complex enterprise rollouts, identifying technical risks and designing mitigation strategies
- Build and deliver demos and POCs during implementation to ensure stakeholder alignment
- Contribute to technical documentation and developer platform roadmap based on industry and project experience
You'll need a B.S. in life sciences, engineering, or computer science, plus 5+ years of client-facing software implementation or consulting experience managing enterprise SaaS projects. Technical skills include REST APIs and Python for building integration demos and example code. You should be comfortable with modern cloud development processes, tools, and architectures, and able to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences. Travel to customer sites is expected 10-20% of the time.
