This role is for an Avionics Systems Engineer specializing in weapon integration, responsible for the end-to-end integration and qualification of weapon systems from early concept through certification. You will serve as the connecting point between weapon suppliers, customers, and internal engineering teams across aerodynamics, structures, mission systems, electrics, environmental engineering, safety, and maintenance logistics. Your responsibilities include stewarding the full weapon integration lifecycle from concept definition to qualification and release to service, maintaining the integration plan, schedule, and technical risk register. Day-to-day activities include coordinating technical integration activities with weapon suppliers and engineering teams to develop a coherent design baseline; defining and approving weapon-specific design and analysis work (store separation, aerodynamic compatibility, kinematics, structural limits); producing system specifications, interface control documents, and architecture concepts; setting test and qualification strategy; supporting rig, ground, and flight test campaigns; and turning results into evidence for airworthiness and military certification. You will act as the reference point on weapon systems for customers, procurement authorities, and internal teams, resolving interface conflicts and guiding technical reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR). REQUIREMENTS: - Demonstrated experience integrating external stores, missiles, or weapon systems onto a military platform, taken through to qualification or certification - Confident application of systems engineering practice, including the V-model and standards such as ARP4754A or INCOSE guidance - Fluent working knowledge of military and airworthiness standards relevant to weapon integration (MIL-STD-1553, MIL-STD-1760, MIL-STD-810, DO-160) - Experience managing requirements in tools such as IBM DOORS or Siemens Polarion - Ability to explain complex technical trade-offs clearly to both engineering and management audiences - Eligibility for extended German security clearance (Ü2/Ü3) - Fluent communication in English and German (working language) NICE TO HAVE: - Experience with uncrewed platforms or jet programmes alongside armed forces or procurement authorities
