Helsing is a defence AI company focused on protecting democracies through technological leadership. This role owns the low observability (LO) testing strategy and execution for aircraft signature performance verification.
You will establish and maintain the multi-year LO testing roadmap, ensuring measurement capability aligns with programme milestones. You will specify, design, and commission in-house test facilities including anechoic chambers, compact or far-field ranges, pylon systems, and radar hardware, with calibration regimes that maintain agreed measurement uncertainty limits.
Key responsibilities include writing master verification and validation test plans for radar cross-section (RCS) and infrared (IR) signature measurement at component, subsystem, and full-aircraft levels. You will produce detailed test procedures that deliver consistent, repeatable results across campaigns, sites, and suppliers. You will define statements of work for subcontracted testing, provide technical guidance to external suppliers, and accept or reject delivered measurement data based on evidence.
Your standards will become the reference point for every LO measurement the company makes, and your evidence will directly inform design decisions on flagship aircraft programmes.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Planned and run RCS measurement campaigns with ability to trace signature results back to underlying physics and test setup
- Specified, built, or operated antenna or RCS test facilities (near-field, far-field, or compact ranges)
- Fluent working knowledge of high-frequency measurement equipment (vector network analysers, signal generators, spectrum analysers)
- Systems engineering practice in verification and validation, from requirements through test plans to signed-off reports
- Clear technical communication in written and spoken English and German, with both customers and engineering colleagues
- Hold or be willing and able to obtain extended German security clearance (erweiterte Sicherheitsüberprüfung, Ü2 or Ü3)
